10 - The lower well

The Lower Well was located on Rue Basse (Rue Salengro). The municipality rebuilt a well on this site, replicating its original design. It was inaugurated for the Pressée Festival in September 2003.

A communal oven was located in the houses opposite. It was always situated near the communal well. Thus, the housewives would fetch water while their bread dough baked in the oven.
