5 - Mutual Aid

This plaque commemorates the Saint Vincent Society, a mutual aid and relief society for the winegrowers of Chenôve, a true pioneer in social and individual insurance. Its purpose was to provide free assistance to any winegrower who, due to illness or accident, could no longer work.

The aid took various forms: rescue teams, financial assistance, equipment loans, and even the payment of a very small pension to retired winegrowers, as the society lacked sufficient funds.
